Blessed day!
We had a wonderful day today even though we didn't leave the house again. We had our friends Jen, Landon and Cayden over for a playdate and had a great time letting the boys play and Jen and I got to have some wonderful adult conversation! It was another beautiful sunny snowy day and the boys even went out and played in it for a whole 5 to 10 minutes! This evening Orlin had a poker party at Three Rivers Marine with some friends so I had my girlfriend Meghan over for dinner and a movie. Orlin very rarely gets out and does stuff with friends these days as he is so busy with work and all of his down time he spends with us, so I was happy to let him have the night off and hope he is having a blast with his buddies! Meghan brought Thai food and we watched "Life As We Know It" on pay per view. Very good movie, but it did get me crying a few times! I won't get into the whole plot of the movie, but it struck a cord with me a little as it made me really appreciate my life and my family so very much. I am so in love with my life that sometimes I get scared that someone or something will be taken away from me. I know it sounds silly, but I just love my husband and my boys so much that I want us all to be able to live long, happy, healthy lives together. It is so easy to get caught up in the day to day struggles of raising kids and doing all the duties of a parent, but I would not change a thing in my life and feel so very blessed to be able to be home with my boys and have a husband who is so loving and supportive of all of us. I even went and peeked on both of my angels tonight as they slept and wanted to snuggle right in with them but didn't want to wake them from their peaceful sleep! Feeling so very blessed tonight.

Snow Days!
The last two days we have gotten some snow, especially last night when we got at least 3 new inches! We had our friends Kiersten and Kyle over yesterday since school was cancelled for them and they needed a place to hang for the day. I was so happy to have them cause Kyle entertained Noah most of the day and Kiersten loves to help with Drew and even help with chores around the house! It was just what the Dr. ordered after being stuck in the house for the last few days with some snotty noses and cold weather. Preschool was cancelled today due to the snow so it's another home bound day. My Mom and Dad stopped by this morning to visit the boys and after we put Drew down for his morning snooze we all went out to play in the snow and even built a snowman! As I said before I am so ready for warmer weather, but we might as well make the most of the snow while it's here! Happy Snow Day!

Winter Wonderland!
As I sit here enjoying the peace and quiet while Noah is at preschool and Drew is napping I look out the window and see a winter wonderland! It has been snowing for a couple of hours now and everything is covered in white. While it's beautiful to look at it's not so much fun to drive in. I slid around a bit coming home so I'll be driving real slow to get Noah in an hour or so. I am so over this winter and can't wait for warmer weather so we can get outside more to play!
It was a beautiful sunny weekend and we headed out to Edmonds on Saturday to enjoy the view and have some lunch at Anthony's Beach Cafe. We had intended on going to the beach and letting Noah play at the park down there, but it was so cold and windy that we decided to take in the view from the car. We ran a few errands and Noah and Orlin picked out a new firepit for the backyard and put it to good use by roasting some marshmallows that night. Sunday I was pretty much gone all day helping my Grandma Ann move into her new apartment but it was really nice being with my family all day and getting my Grandma all settled into her new place. Jayme and I had fun putting things away and decorating for her and while she was away for about an hour we quickly finished setting up and when she got back she was so happy and excited about her new cozy apartment! Orlin stayed home with the boys thankfully and what I thought would be a few hour ordeal at my Grandma's turned into all day, so thanks honey for hanging with the boys! Took both boys in yesterday to get their ears checked even though Drew just finished his second round of antibiotics on Saturday for his second ear infection. His snotty nose had come back and Noah's week long cold had turned into a soar ears. Both boys have ear infections and I have officially caught the cold too! Hope to nip this thing in the butt soon and really hope that this will be the last dose of medicine for both boys, especially Drew!

Valentine's Day and the days that followed.
Noah had his Valentine party at preschool on Tuesday the 15th and brought in his Thomas the Train Valentines with suckers attached. He had made his special Valentine bag and came home with all sorts of cards and treats. I have to say that I enjoyed a few myself!Photo by Noah! |
brotherly love! |
We had a good Valentine's Day on Monday. Noah and I made Valentine cards for each set of Grandparents and hand delivered them so it was fun to see their excitment. It was a rainy yucky day so that was our big outing for the day. I made a yummy lasagne for dinner and added a few extra ingredients like spinach and extra garlic since I ran out of onion and it turned out really good. Orlin came home with some beautiful roses and we exchanged Valentine emails in the morning, (I know, pretty cheesy, but it works for us)! He did not get his massage that I had thought about doing, but by the end of the day especially when I make a big dinner, I am exhausted! Maybe this weekend? I'm sure he'll have something to say about that here soon! I just need to stop making promises that I know I can't keep and everything will be fine!
I really need to get better about taking more pictures especially when we make special things or when we do a fun outing. This blog will be a good reminder for me to do that and I'm sure I'll love to look back on all the fun things me and the boys did! On Wednesday the 16th the boys and I went to get Noah's haircut at Supercuts and Theresa, (his haircut lady was there to trim him up)! After that we went to the distillery to visit and get a forklift ride for Noah. Orlin was actually not there but Uncle Brett was there to give Noah a ride! We went out to Redhook Brewery for dinner with the boys and it was awesome! Drew was in a great mood now that he's feeling better and Noah loved the atmosphere. Such a fun family night! It's Friday already and its been a beautiful day so the boys and I went out for a drive and got a carwash. When we came home, we played outside for awhile and enjoyed the warm sun a few tractor rides and of course the swings. Thankfully the weather is supposed to be nice all weekend. We are helping my Grandma Ann move on Sunday for a few hours, but besides that we have not much planned, which is just great!

What a weekend!
We had a busy weekend full of birthdays and sick boys! To start out on a positive note though, Orlin and I did get out on Friday night and went to Lot 3 for drinks and then had a yummy dinner at Purple Cafe in Bellevue. My parents and Mandy came over to hang with the boys while we had some much needed "us" time. We had such a great time and really did it up as we had a gift card to both places, so we kind of spoiled ourselves! Such a treat. Saturday Noah and I headed up north to Bellingham for Olivia's bday party which was really fun for both of us, but with the drive we made it an all day event. It was nice to catch up with Lacy and let Noah have some fun time with just Mom for the day. When I returned home I learned that Orlin was feeling sick and he was up all night with some sort of bug. Drew is still getting over a double ear infection and a cold so as you can imagine he was a real treat for most of the weekend. I did however manage to have some fun at my favorite store TJMaxx with a gift card I had gotten for my birthday. I took Drew with me and had him in the baby bjorn so Orlin could have some quiet time for a bit. We had a birthday party to go to on Sunday, but had to cancel as most of boys were sick and needed me around. Kind of a crazy busy weekend, but all in all a good one. Happy Valentine's Day too! Noah got a new soccer ball since he is starting on a 3 to 4 age soccer team at the end of February and he also got a cool camo suitcase that rolls. It was normally $40 at OshKosh and it was marked down to $5.99, so I couldn't pass it up! Drewby got a couple of new sippy cups to try out! I'm making some lasagne for dinner and if I have the energy Orlin might get a little massage after the boys go to bed. We will see!

One of those days!
After many months of considering and pondering I finally decided to start a blog. I set it up last night and really still have no idea what I'm doing, but I figure I'll learn as I go. My friend Lacy has had one for at least a year now and I think it's such a neat way to document your fun times and memories with your kids. It's really sad how many wonderful moments have already passed without me writing them down or even putting them in the baby books, but I figure better late than never right? I may even jot a some memories down over the last year that stick out in my mind just to have on here. I had one of those mornings today where I just really wanted to check out for a few hours! I rarely have those days, but today was one of them. I got up the energy to get us all out the door and headed to the park/trail at Lake Tye and met up with our friends Jen, Landon, and baby Cayden. We both were a little frazzled trying to get everyone situated in strollers and front packs with plenty of layers cause it was really cold, but we did manage to walk all the way around the lake and it felt great to have the fresh air and get a little exercise. Poor Jen came a little unprepared and was having a heck of a time keeping all her stuff together in the stroller, but it was quite comical and we both had some good laughs out of it. It's amazing what a little fresh air and laughter will do to change your perspective on the day. Thank god for good Mommy friends!
