The last week has been a real busy one, but the biggest event of course was little Drewby's 1st Birthday! Yesterday the 27th, was his actual birthday, but we had a big party for him on Sunday afternoon here at the house. We had a great turn out with most all of our close family and friends and even though poor little guy was running a slight fever, he still had a good day! He is still not 100%, but he slept a whopping 15 hrs last night, so it seems like he is sure trying to fight off some kind of bug. He goes in this Thursday morning for his 1 yr appt, and will get him checked out then as well if he is still not doing better.

Last Wednesday morning we headed to Whidbey Island with my Dad and the boys to have a couple of fun days at the beach. Our place is rented so much, especially in the summer months, so I figured we better take advantage of the open days throughout the summer so we can get our fill of beach time in!  I forgot how much work it is to pack all that you need for a baby and a toddler for just a couple of days, but it was well worth the effort because we all had a great time. My Dad got in an awesome bike ride in the Saratoga Woods mountain bike trails and we had fun playing in the sand and enjoying the simplicity of being on the beach. We had our friends Katie, Nia, and Isla over for the day on Wednesday and Noah and Nia had a grand time playing together on the beach.

Today Noah had his first swim lesson and he did so awesome! My friend Syd's coworker Renee gives swim lessons at her house that has a covered/heated pool and her and her son Andrew both give lessons. Her son was with Noah today and at first Noah was a little shy and didn't want to get in the pool, but Andrew was so patient and wonderful with him that before I knew it, he was in with him kicking, paddling, and even putting his face in the water with goggles! I was so proud and I even got to relax in the hot tub and observe the lesson! We both are looking forward to going back on Thursday afternoon for another lesson!

Getting caught up!

Geez, it's been almost a month since I last did a post! Time to get caught up I guess! Well, since the last post we headed to Chelan for Memorial Weekend, which was great, the weather was pretty good and the boys had fun and slept like champs! Drew slept till 10:15 the first morning and then till 9:30 the next morning with no wake ups at night, so Mama was real happy! Noah had a blast playing with his cousins and even got to play with his buddy Landon since Jenn was also there with her boys staying at her parents place. Kinda crazy that it's right across the street from my parents place! Jenn and I also got to sneak out to Benson Winery and shared a yummy bottle of Chardonnay and some wonderful uninterrupted conversation! It was pure bliss as we sat outside in the sunshine just relaxing and chatting. I had drove over by myself with the boys and they did great, (didn't sleep a wink) but did great. Orlin came over with my Dad on Saturday night and we had some fun family time and even went out for Jayme's bday on Saturday night. Great trip had by all and we all can't wait to go back! Noah talks about how he love's Chelan all the time!

We've had some fun birthday parties in the last couple of weeks which have been really fun for Noah and then we have Drewby's 1st birthday party coming up on the 26th, next Sunday! I can't even believe it, but we are excited to celebrate his special day! Noah's last day of preschool was last Tuesday so school is out for summer! We have already planned a trip to Whidbey Island this coming week since we are going to have some good weather and we have a few more Chelan trips to look forward to as well.

This past Friday me and the boys met up with Jenn, Landon, and Cayden and went on a little hike at Paradise Lake Trails and had a wonderful time. It was a flawless trip until we got back to the parking lot and discovered that Jenn's car battery was dead, but with a little help from my Dad and Orlin over the phone, we were able to jump her car and she was back in business!

Today is Father's Day and we celebrated this morning by giving Orlin at least an hour of quiet time before everyone woke up since me and the boys slept till after 8:00 am! I had coffee ready for him and we made him some yummy oatmeal per his request. Noah gave him the card that he and I made and his gift, which was some new shorts, (camo like Noah's) and a new shirt. I am headed out on a bike ride with my Dad and my sister her in about an hour and then tonight we are celebrating at Sorensen's by having dinner together. Now if the sunshine would make an appearence that would be great!
