I am seriously getting a little lazy with this whold blog thing lately, but this month has been crazy busy, so let's get caught up shall we! This month was all about Chelan and the Sorensen family vacation to Mammoth, CA. We finished up with our swimming lessons in mid August and we feel so good about Noah's progress! I think we will start up again next spring and hopefully get him swimming on his own by next summer. We had a family friends wedding the 13th of August in Chelan, so that was a really fun family getaway and Noah got to do lots of swimming with his cousins in the pool. The weekend of the 20th Orlin and I headed over to Chelan for the Blake Shelton concert, which was at the Mill Bay Casino in Manson. It was awesome! We went with Orlin's bff/business partner Brett, his wife Camille, and Brett's brother Sarge and his girlfriend. We took my Dad's boat out all day Saturday which was pure heaven and just had some wonderful adult time! The next Thursday morning I headed over to Chelan again for our annual girls weekend, a.k.a. Hot Mess Holiday as Orlin has renamed it! We had such a great time and seriously did lots of lounging in the sun, eating, and enjoyed many a yummy cocktail! Two days after getting home from that we headed to Mammoth! This was the boys first time on an airplane, so we were a little nervous as you can imagine. Noah was a rockstar and Drew also did great on the way down. The way home was another story! On the way down we had the help of Tyler, Orlin's brother, so that helped a lot. We had an awesome trip and were able to do lots of hikes, swimming, and fishing. Noah even caught his first fish in one of the lakes down there, so that was a pretty big deal! The reason for the trip was to celebrate Orlin Sr's 60th, so we had some great family time and just enjoyed being together in the beautiful Mammoth mountains. I got to get out and shop around the village with Sue, Orlin's cousin Ali, and Jaclyn, Ty's girlfriend. We all enjoyed the trip and look forward to going back in another few years maybe. Poor Drew triped in our condo on day 3 and smacked the bridge of his nose on the rock fireplace. It looked and sounded awful and he was pretty pathetic looking for the rest of the trip. The air is so dry up there as it is at 8,000 ft, so all of our noses and skin got really dry. Drew's skin got really bad and he even got a bad diaper rash, so he was a little beside himself the rest of the trip. He didn't sleep a wink on the 4 hr. drive to the airport going back and was a bit of a wreck on the plane. I also had the pleasure of changing a poopy diaper in the tiny bathroom, which was a real treat. I'm pretty sure the whole plane heard the screaming! I did however get seated next to singer Colbie Caillet on the plane, which was pretty cool. I actually didn't even realize who it was until the flight attendant asked for her autograph! She was nice and moved to an open seat so Drew could have his own, which was really smart on her part. We were happy to get home, but all in all, it was a good time and we are glad we made the trip to celebrate such a special man! Happy Birthday Sr., we love you!
P.S. Drew is officially a walker now! For the last week or so, he has been walking all over the place. He is also loving walking around in the grass out back and thinks it's real cool to play with the dirt in the garden as well. Exciting times!
