Garbage day!
Mother's Day weekend has come and gone, but boy was it a good one this year! For the last few years my sister and I have gone to Chelan with my parents for most of the weekend for a little Mother's Day getaway, so this year we had to do it again. Can't break tradition right?  It was such a great weekend and it really allowed us to just relax, enjoy, and catch up, which we don't always get to do with the kiddos around. They tend to steal the show sometimes! ;) It's not very often that it's just the four of us, so we made the most of it. We had two blissful days and then headed home on Sunday morning so we can be with our own families for the day. When the boys got home, they had a present for me and it was something that I was really wanting. A new camera! I guess all that complaining and hinting really worked! It's a Nikon J1 and it's pretty fancy. It even has a removable lense! I'm still learing about it, but it takes awesome pictures. My brother in law and his girlfriend Jaclyn hosted a bbq dinner at Jaclyn's parents house, so we all headed over there for some fun, food, and sun with the family! Of course I had to bring my new toy to show off and try out. It was a wonderful day and I couldn't be more blessed because I have an incredible Mommy who is not only an amazing Mom, but one of my bestest friends. I also get to be a Mommy to two little sweethearts who warm my heart every day. Hope you all had a great Mother's day!

Mother's Day tea.

Today Noah had a special Mother's Day Tea at his preschool and it was quite fun! My Mom and Sue, (my Mother in law) came to see the short little performance, which was a few songs and enjoy the yummy treats that they made for us. I was a little nervous for Noah knowing that he would be on stage singing in front of a bunch of people and also because his buddy from class is on vacation and was not there for moral support. To my suprise, he did awesome! Actually a big improvement from the Christmas program because he was actually singing and doing most of the hand motions, which was so fun to watch. Us Mom's got a special hand print painting they made and a cute potted plant that they decorated for us. So proud of my boy and proud to be his Mommy!
Tonight I am headed to Chelan with my family for a little getaway/Mother's Day weekend trip. I leave tonight with my Dad and tomorrow my sister and Mom will head over in the morning. I am so exicted for the time away with my family and for some much needed R&R! I will get back around noon on Mother's Day so I can spend it with my boys! Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mommy's out there!

pretty flower pots and yummy treats for us Mommies.

More treats.

Here comes Noah with his class!

really getting into the hand motions.

Go Noah!

my handsome guy!

Noah, me and my Mommy.

My Mom told me to delete this, but it's one of the few that Noah is looking and smiling at the camera.

where did April go?

Can't believe that it's already May 1st, where does the time go? Anywho, it's was a fun and busy month with a few exciting events that are blog worthy so here we go. First and foremost is Noah and his super duper biking skills! About 2 weeks ago we really worked with him one Friday night and he was able to ride by himself a couple of times for a few seconds and by Saturday morning he was cruising all on his own! He was so excited to go on his first trail ride with me, so we went Monday morning and he did awesome! So very proud of my boy and all his hard work.
The next item on the list, which is not so much exciting, as it was scary was putting my car in the ditch on Paradise Lake Rd. last week. I was coming home from taking Noah to preschool and was on a straight away with no cars around, so I had reached back to hand Drew something, (which I do all the time) and when I turned back around my car had drifted a foot or two and my tire on the passenger side went off the road and my car ended up in a steep muddy ditch. It happened so fast and really freaked me out, but thankfully both Drew and I were fine and after a few phone calls my Mom and Orlin arrived in no time so Drew and I climbed out of our the car and Orlin waited until the tow truck came and pulled it out of the ditch. Unfortunately there was a little body damage to the bumper, but no damage to anything else thank god. My Dad took it to work with him the next day and the checked underneath since it scraped up the bottom pretty good, but only ended up needing to pull about 5 gallons of mud out from underneath! It was definitely an eye opening experience for me and I will think twice now before I try and mutitask while driving. The cranky kids in the back will just have to wait!
old school McDonalds toys at Camp Grandy on Camano Island, which was where we had my Grandma's 90th birthday party.

Drew loved the slide.

cousin Mandy, Sarah and Noah loved the Mc Hamburgler.

Have I mentioned how much I dislike my camera? It will take some decent pics, but it seems like when I try to take a very important one, like this one, which is my Grandma with all 4 of her girls, it turns out crappy! So frustating. I'm going to have to hint a little more to the hubby that a new camera is an order!
Over the weekend we celebrated my Mother in Law's 60th birthday on friday and my  Grandma Winnie's 90th birthday on Sunday. We had a fun family dinner for my MIL and then on Sunday we had a big family party up at my cousin Ryan's cabin on Camano Island. It was a great day and the whole family including all the kiddos had a fun game of kick ball and we even got to play on the beach for awhile.
