Ready for Spring!

The last two weekends we have taken advantage of the dry weather, (when we had it) and planted our garden and got the backyard all ready for the nice weather. Now if we could just get a little more consistant sunshine we would be doing great! We planted pumpkins, gourds, sunflowers, dahlias, and we also did the topsy turvy things with both tomatoes and strawberries since the animals including our dog Annie tend to eat them when there in the garden. It was a fun family event and Noah had so much fun helping us get it all ready! This is our third year having one and we all really enjoy it, especially Noah. He loves picking out his pumpkin for Halloween and even loves to help me weed the garden, which will be a big help this summer!

We also have a new addition to the Sorensen family and it's a girl to boot! Orlin's brother Justin and his wife Annie had a baby girl on Tuesday May 17th! Her name is Evangaline, or Eva as we like to call her and she is a healthy beautiful baby girl! Noah is excited to have another cousin and we are thrilled to have a little girl in the family since there is the three brothers and then our two boys, so this is quite exciting for the family!

Drew is fully crawling now and is standing up on things all the time now and has even added the word "ball" to his vocabulary! I can't believe that I have to start planning his 1st birthday party already as it's just a little over a month away! Man how time fly's when you have little ones!

my sweet baby boy!

on the move!

Noah has found a good hiding spot. This coffee table is no longer in our living room since it's a bit of a safety hazard for Drew!

Drew loves balls of any kind and is saying "ball" now!

We are headed to Chelan this Thursday for Memorial Weekend and are looking forward to spending time with my family and celebrating my sissy's birthday and my nephew Tanner's birthday. Let's hope the sun decides to visit us while we are there!

happy boy!
I had a wonderful Mother's Day this past Sunday and got pretty spoiled by my boys! It's now a tradition for Orlin and Noah to make me breakfast in bed for both my birthday and for Mother's Day so I was looking forward to a yummy breakfast to wake up to. Noah helped Orlin make pancakes, bacon, and eggs and it was delicious! He was so cute about it and wanted to make sure I liked it! I also got a gift card to my favorite nursery in Snohomish called Mcaulife's and am very excited to get our seeds for our garden and flowers to fill my pots out back. After I spent some time with the boys in the morning I met up with my parents and my sister in Snohomish for coffee at the Snohomish Bakery. It was really nice just to have it be the four of us and we visisted for a good hour or so. We then ventured out and shopped around at a few of our favorite shops. I visisted my very favorite which is Joyworks and found so many cute clothes, but refrained from buying anything even though it was Mother's Day! Later that afternoon Orlin's family came over to celebrate his Mom's birthday and of course Mother's Day as well. Orlin did most of the cooking and his brother's and their significant others also pitched in and brought extra goodies. It was a great night and the food was delicious as usual. I feel pretty lucky that my husband loves to cook and is also really good at it!

Monday Drew started pulling himself up on the fireplace and has been standing for longer periods of time  ever since. He also is not intentionally doing it, but is flashing the peace sign quite a bit lately. It's pretty darn cute and I'm just happy he's chosen this to be his first thing of sign language rather than something else!

I have been taking some parenting classes with a few friends and have really enjoyed them so far. The classes are based on a philosophy called "High Trust Parenting" and it's really quite interesting. Last night was the second of four classes and I really got a lot out of it. I feel really good about taking them and hope it will help both Orlin and I be better parents and help our boys to be happier little guys!

Much needed R&R!

this was our spot of choice for most of the weekend!

so fun to come home to this little munchkin!

today, we headed over to friends Meghan, Taylor, and baby Landon's house in Duvall and hit up a park in their neighborhood. The weather was awesome and we  had a great time! This is sweet little Taylor in this pic.

This last weekend I met up with my friend Jenn in Palm Springs and boy was it a treat! I could not have asked for better weather and it was so great to just chill by the pool all day and catch up with an old friend. Of course we did enjoy a few cocktails each day and went out each night to dinner, but mostly we just did a lot of lounging in the sun which is just what the doctor ordered! Unfortunatley, I missed a section on my chest/stomach with the sunscreen, so I'm still a little red and I know for a fact I will be peeling soon! We did some walking/driving around checking out the shops in town and even ventured out for a little run. Mine was much shorter than Jenn's, but I was on vacation so I didn't want to over do it! ;) It was so great to get away but I was sure glad to get home to my boys who I could tell missed me a little bit. Thanks to my Mom and Orlin for taking care of the kiddos while I was away! I feel so lucky to have such a great family that is more than willing to let me go and have a little me time every now and then!
