4th of July Chelan trip.

We didn't have any set plans for the 4th this year and since Orlin had to work the weekend after, we decided last minute to head over to Chelan mid week to take advantage of the great weather and some fun time with the family. We got to enjoy a fun day on the boat and some playtime at the pool. Noah and I even got creative and watched the fireworks from the back of Orlin's truck! We had parked up on top of a hill just down the street from my parents place and it allowed us to see the big show as well as a few other show's across the lake. It was a great family trip and we can't wait to go back!

Noah got a boo boo that morning at my parents on their concrete walkway. Those darn flip flops!

we had chairs, snacks, blankets and were cozy as can be. Too bad he's not much of a night owl because half way through the show he wanted to go back and go to bed!

great day for a boat ride!

dropping a line. There was no bait, but he was happy as a clam just holding the poll!

so pretty.

a fire had started that morning towards Entiat, so we were keeping an eye on the smoke.

they were brave enough to take a dip in the lake, me on the other hand, not so much!

Drew's birthday party.

For Drew's birthday we decided to have a very small family party here at the house and invited just a couple of close friends. We learned after throwing his 1st birthday that having a big party with family, friends, and kids, that it can get just a little crazy and overwhelming for all of us, especially the ones who are in charge of cooking and cleaning! The weather was decent and we bbq'd salmon and flank steak and a had a great evening celebrating Drew's special day.

Drew turns 2!

Well, it's been a few weeks ago now, but we our baby boy turned 2 back on June 27th! I really can't believe how fast these last couple of years have flown by, however it feels like he's been a part of our life and family for so long. He is such a sweet and funny boy and brings so much joy to all of us. He and Noah have become great buddies and I so love watching them play and know that they will always have eachother's back. The morning of Drew's birthday we all had breakfast together including Daddy and gave him his present from us, which was a new bike. I had wanted to get him a balance bike, but when I went to a bike shop, the guy reccomended that we just get a regular bike and take the pedals and training wheels off to get his balance and then once he was ready I could put the pedals back on. Well it all sounded good, but once I got it home and put him on it, I realized that his feet would not touch the ground! So we are leaving the pedals and training wheels on for now and are just working on the pedaling with him. This is the way Noah learned and he learned to ride without training wheels several months ago, so I figure it will all work out.
To celebrate Drew's special day we went to Remlinger Farms with my Mom for the day and thanks to a little Groupon action, we got a nice little discount. Before we left however, we had a little excitment. Noah lost his first tooth! He was downstairs trying to open something with his teeth and apparently it just fell out! He was pretty upset about it because of the blood and the fact that he couldn't find the tooth. I had called my Mom to tell her the news and thankfully she still had my first tooth and brought it over. We explained to Noah that the tooth fairy wouldn't know the difference between the teeth, so he was relieved and sure enough, the tooth fairy paid him a visit that night! We had a blast at Remlinger Farms and couldn't have asked for a better day. Great way to celebrate our Drewby's birthday!
